WAYS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH HOPE

VICTORY: NO LONGER A “VICTIM”

It is essential to consider how important it is for you to begin to redefine and reinterpret your version of how you now see yourself and become more aware of all the painful lies and distortions that you believe about yourself as this is one of the major effects of what has happened to you as a result of trauma. Healing is a process and during that process is when you will be able to start to “no longer see yourself as a victim” even though you certainly “have been “victimized”. Since you have experienced trauma then feeling helpless and powerless in relationships can be a pattern that needs to change as you heal. You do not need to live your life and have the effects of trauma continue to run your life. Yes you have gone through alot and the effects are most likely conscious as well as unconscious(emotions and memories held in your body) but how you view yourself (depression, shame, anxiety) is at the core of your healing and essential to your recovery and restoration in all areas of your life. You are “going through the fire and coming out GOLD”! (See: “How To Recognize That you Don’t Value Yourself”))

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

As you are desiring to move forward and not backwards it is extremely important to notice all the “blessings” that you have right now and to become more aware of this each and every day. As you no longer take the gifts and blessings of God for granted you can truly be released from being stuck in a negative hopeless place and become a “light in a dark world” no longer “blending with the darkness”. May you begin to have eyes to truly see and ears to truly hear beyond what you see with your natural eyes and ears. You can then start to be an encouragement to others as you encourage yourself. Being a thankful person can make so much difference in the quality of your life and your relationships. Making a conscious choice to live in the present can be a pathway to no longer being bound by past hurts and expecting them to happen again. Please understand this is not a quick fix but a step in the right direction toward moving forward. It is a major part of your healing and progressing forward no longer allowing the trauma of your past to be your identity and projecting this into your future.

THE RIGHT THERAPIST CAN HELP YOU TO HEAL AND MOVE FORWARD

The “right” therapist can be a major part of your healing journey so making a wise choice of who you chose to be your therapist is essential to your progress. You are of value no matter how you feel about yourself right now and I would be honored to guide you and help you to see and know your true value and worth not based on anything you do but on who you are. We live from the inside out so it is essential that the effects of your emotional pain and wounds your pain has caused are addressed and explored in a collaborative therapeutic relationship where you are safe, encouraged, nourished as well as where you are learning and stretching past your comfort zones as that is where growth and change takes place. Please give me a call if you are ready to courageously move forward!
